Stock Market Holidays for the Second Half of 2021

Learn When the World’s Major Stock Exchanges have an Irregular Work Schedule

Why is the Holiday Schedule Important?

Stocks are one of the most popular financial instruments, and traders are usually active during most weekdays. That’s why it’s essential to know when the stock market exchanges don’t work or have an irregular schedule.

Most stock market exchanges follow a holiday calendar similar to that of their country’s banking sector. However, that’s not always the case. For instance, there is no unified global holiday calendar for the stock market exchanges. Instead, they belong to different cultures and have different holidays.

Knowing the exchange holiday schedule is important for two reasons. First, if traders get caught by surprise with a sudden day off in the stock market, they may be unable to open or close a trade on the day they were planning. Second, price gaps are not uncommon before and after holidays. Therefore, a holiday-related price shift may take a particular trade in an unexpected direction.

Both reasons are crucially important for traders. Hence, in this article, you will learn when the stock market exchanges have a day off or an irregular schedule and will be able to plan your trades accordingly.
