Olymp Trade: the Social Responsibility

Olymp Trade entered the market in 2014. Our reliability is confirmed by category A membership in the International Finance Commission, which provides additional guarantees for the customers.

Recognition by authorities and trade show awards are important, but it’s not everything. In Olymp Trade, we believe that a successful business shouldn't exist only for its own benefit. To match words with deeds, we plan to channel some of our funds to bring positive change to local communities.

First, we will continue to provide urgent after-disaster support if floods, cyclones, or droughts leave people without shelter and food. Together with our on-site partners, we have already assembled, delivered, and distributed a lot of emergency packages among the affected households. Luckily, agile companies like ours are rather effective when things must be done quickly and under volatile circumstances.

On the other hand, we understand the importance of being proactive and consistent. Therefore, Olymp Trade will keep partnering with humanitarian organizations to run social health, education, and awareness campaigns. These routine missions look less heroic, but they are better structured and improve life on the community level.

We believe this twofold approach will make the world a better place. Below are some examples of the projects Olymp Trade has completed so far.

Indonesia: Pandemic Support Mission

The economically disadvantaged residents of Indonesia were among those who suffered most from The COVID-19 pandemic.

In May 2020, the Olymp Trade team partnered with Rumah Zakat Foundation to deliver aid packages to Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Bogor, Bekasi, Depok, Solo (Surakarta), and Tangerang. Many residents, including the pandemic-hit families, received food supplies that helped them through hard times.

India: Ganesha Chaturthi Festival Mission

The COVID-19 pandemiс put the Indian healthcare and social protection systems under unprecedented pressure. The most vulnerable categories of citizens were struggling merely to survive.

To support these people, Olymp Trade teamed up with the world-famous Smile Foundation. Together, we held a joint charity event in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu state. Many low-income families received aid kits with enough food to feed a family of five for a month. These kits also contained hygiene products necessary during the pandemic.

Appropriately, the mission was timed to the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Ganesh, one of the most worshipped deities in India, associates with generosity and prosperity.

Vietnam: Helping Flood Victims

Vietnam, already affected by the consequences of the pandemic, was additionally hit by severe rainstorms caused by tropical cyclones in October and November 2020. These led to severe floods and landslides, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without homes, crops, and food supplies.

Within a short time, the Olymp Trade team provided humanitarian aid to many Vietnamese residents. On November 28ー29, several charity events were held to deliver emergency assistance to Hai Lang. The aid packages contained staple foods and school supplies for kids to continue with education.

Indonesia: Delivering Aid to South Kalimantan

At the beginning of 2021, Indonesia was attacked by multiple natural disasters, including record floods. One of the hardest-hit areas was South Kalimantan, a province in the southeastern part of Borneo. The heavy rainfalls and resulting floods left more than 3,500 houses submerged and over 11,500 residents affected.

In partnership with DT Peduli, a well-reputed local NPO, Olymp Trade delivered aid packages to the temporary refugee camp in Handil Babirik, where many displaced families stayed. Apart from snacks and staple foods, these packages contained hygiene products, drinking water, blankets, and school supplies. The families with infants also received baby formula and diapers to take proper care of their little ones.

Egypt: Helping Care Homes Survive COVID-19

The residents of Egypt’s care homes found themselves in danger during the pandemic. Many of these people have mental disabilities and a bunch of chronic diseases. Therefore, they are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19, especially when the healthcare system is overloaded.

In December 2020 — January 2021, Olymp Trade teamed up with Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) to support several orphanages and nursing homes in Cairo, Giza, and Alexandria. ERC’s staff and volunteers ran a massive awareness campaign to improve the residents’ hygiene and social distancing habits. They also examined many of these people to assess their physical and mental condition and provide much-needed help, including seasonal flu shots. Finally, the project’s team distributed 700 kits with hygiene must-haves and helped sanitize living facilities.

After the mission, Olymp Trade received a thank-you letter from Dr. Ramy Elnazer, the Egyptian Red Crescent CEO.

India: Feeding the Hungry in Mumbai and Delhi

Due to nationwide lockdowns, dozens of millions of people in India lose their jobs and income. Besides, food prices spiked, pushing the most vulnerable communities to the brink of starvation. For many, food insecurity has become a bigger problem than the virus-related risks.

In August 2021, Olymp Trade teamed up with the Akshaya Patra Foundation, a well-known Indian NGO, to run a new charity campaign in Mumbai and Delhi. The partners set up multiple field kitchens to distribute thousands of hot nourishing meals among the homeless, migrant workers, daily wagers, and low-income families. Those able to cook for themselves could receive one of 500 grocery kits with a 2-week supply of wheat, lentils, sugar, spices, and other pantry essentials.

Olymp Trade was happy to help India’s most disadvantaged survive to get through these rough times. We are also thankful to the Akshaya Patra team for this opportunity to make change.

Mexico: Supporting Indigenous Communities

The COVID-19 crisis pushed many people in Mexico further into poverty. The Indigenous communities living in rural areas suffered more than most. Many of these people faced food insecurity. Additionally, dangerously low virus awareness made them potential victims of a new COVID-19 wave.

In December 2021 and January 2022, Olymp Trade partnered with Fondo Para La Paz in holding a special charitable mission in the Mexican states of Campeche, Chiapas, Oaxaca, San Luis Potosi, and Veracruz. The joint team organized COVID awareness campaigns and introduced local farmers to a range of safe and effective agricultural practices.

The goal was to help the communities understand the importance of preventive measures, reduce crop loss, and enhance the productivity of their farms. All the campaign participants were provided with face masks, hand sanitizers, and other necessary equipment.
